Professional Health Services of Jackson is Hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Near Jackson, TN

An outpatient mental health company based in Jackson; TN is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with the desire to provide excellent patient care for residents in multiple long-term care facilities throughout West Tennessee.

The ideal candidate will be motivated and have a willingness to work collaboratively as a team to identify the psychosocial, mental, and emotional needs of nursing home residents as well as serve as a consultant with the long-term care staff and medical director to diagnose, treat, counsel, and make medication recommendations as needed.

The PMHNP will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing residents with mental health conditions and emotional disorders such as depression, anxiety, Alzheimer’s Disease, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorders. The residents may be offered counseling services and other resources to improve their overall well-being while residing in the nursing home. The PMHNP will utilize brief psychological screening tools and clinical interviewing skills to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations.

PMHNP Duties & Responsibilities:

 Diagnose & treat mental health & emotional disorders.

 Offer intermediate counseling to the residents of LTC facilities as needed.

 Make medication recommendations as needed.

 Maintain detailed records of patient visits and progress.

 Assist in development of individualized treatment plans.

 Collaborate with colleagues, medical director, and staff of LTC facilities to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements & Qualifications:

 Current valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

 Extensive knowledge and understanding of human behavior as it may relate to the effects of an illness or injury.

 Knowledge of mental health & emotional disorders.

 Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

 Knowledge of state and federal homecare guidelines.

 Ability to work as part of a team.

 Strong organizational & time management skills.

 Ability to work in a self-motivated, independent manner.
